unluckypaul
Before i download xcode and try and rebuild the AppleAC97Audio i was wondering if anyone had looked into this? in AppleAC97CodecAD198x.cpp.html the following method is used. bool CLASS::primeHardware( void ) { ...... codecWrite( kReg72_JackSenseStatus, 0x0000 ); ...... } and the data sheet ad1981b describes setting up in this way as ignoring all jack sense (leave speakers on when headphones are plugged in.) I get the impression that rebuilding the driver and changing this intialisation to 0x0100 (or 0x0080 if its reverse) should enable jack sense muting? Has anyone tried this already? I really want to get the sound working correctly on my tc4200. Never done anything mac related before so i suspect it'll take an age to learn to even build the kext or even use os x but i'm definitely willing if it hasn't been attempted. Could you fill me in with what you did to get sound working on your computer? I would also love a solution to get this card properly working. Please post what you did. I have a NC2400 from HP with the same card. unluckypaul
My sound worked straight away after installing iPC 10.5.6. it only didn't mute the speakers when headphones were put in. Looking at the NC2400 specs i think it has a different ADI soundcard to mine and a different newer chipset if you want to try the version i have compiled that does mute speakers when headphones are inserted you can grab it here modified driver Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/155611-soundmax-ad198x-speakers-and-headphones-switch/#findComment-1097478 Share on other sites
