Hi,

I am using the boot132 disk and a Leopard 10.5.6 disk.

I got the boot132 disk from a torrent; it is named generic.iso

I got the Leopard disk from a recently purchased mac box set family pack.

I called apple support and they assured me that the Leopard disk is a full version that can be installed on a new hd on a mac.

I can get to the "boot:" prompt using generic.iso. when I swap the disks and press enter I get prompted for a two digit hex number. no matter what number I try it immediately goes back to the boot prompt. The exception is if I use 00; for 00 it restarts my computer and after some time prompts me with: "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key".

What could I be doing wrong?

I am using an Asus p5e-vm do motherboard with one SATA disk.

I got a little further, but still need assistance....

The SATA disk I was using was brand new. I installed another operating system on it just to get it formatted and tested to make sure it was okay.

Here is what happens now:

1) I boot using boot132

2) At the "boot:" prompt I swap in my Leopard 10.5.6 disk.

3) I press enter

4) I enter 80 and and press enter.

The undesirable behavior is that the "other operating system" boots off the hard drive.

This seems like some newbie error that someone can easily tell me what is wrong.

Please Help! Thanks Guys.
