installed IPC OSX86 10.5.6 onto my system below:

- AMD X2 4200+

- Biostar TA690G mobo

- Nvidia 7300GT

everything is working beautifully. onboard sound, ethernet etc.

graphics as well (able to select resolutions), except CE/QI. no biggie.

problem comes when I plug in a USB thumbdrive or USB hdd.

immediately, my mac usb keyboard becomes inactive and system shows signs of instability.

i had installed the usb patches and usbmassstorage fix when i installed the IPC OSX86.

but still this problem persists.

anyone has a solution? much appreciated.

thanks!!

just to share, have managed to solve my problem.

turns out the SB600 chipset is known to have issues working with the apple keyboard's usb hub in usb2.0 mode:

went out to the PC shops, got me a $12 PCI - USB2 card (NEC chipset, as OSX has native support for NEC usb chipset) and wala! all my usb mass storage problems are gone now and i can read/write all my thumbdrives and external hdds with no problems now.

now i can safely say i have a 100% working hackintosh.. rocks! :D
