Hallo,

I have succesfully installed iDeneb 10.5.5 on VMWare Workstation 6.5.1 build 126130, yesterday I installed iLife '08, but when I open Garageband it says (Sound is working before I open Garageband)

The default sound device cannot be opened:

A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system.

Failed to connect virtual device sound.

After I quit GarageBand '08 I can succesfully reconnect the sound

What must I do?

My computer specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550

4GB RAM, 2GB for Vmware

Asus P5Q Pro

RealTek ALC1200-8-Channel High Definition Audio

Hello, I am having the same problem. I was wondering if you ever managed to solve it.

Thanks so much.

I don't know if it works for everybody but this is the way I solved that problem on my pc.

Try switching your audio device. I usualy have 2-channel speakers connected to my pc back panel with a regular sound jack. So i connected a pair of headsets to the front panel instead and that error no longer exists.... I don't know why nut apparently if you connect your audio device to a diferent port...... it works.

Hope it helps.

Cheers.
