[Realtek]My ALC660 works!

I just installed the driver by following command:

sudo -s

pass:

chown -R Root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext

chown -R Root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ALCinject.kext

chown -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext

chown -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ALCinject.kext

rm -Rf /system/library/extensions.*

kextcache -k /system/library/extensions

reboot

 

get the kext here:

AppleHDA_for_ALC660_beta_4.zip

 

it works!

 

Try it if you have the same card.

OS: jas mac os x 10.5.4 (server & client)

PC: Asus Notebook F8SG

The kext worked for me. Great job! Usually when I install XxX 10.5.6, my sound works right off the bat but for whatever reason, it hasn't been. This resolved the issue I was having. Thank you for posting this.

 

PS. I used kext helper to insert the kext because I hate working in terminal. It was a completely smooth process.
