Man,

EDIT --> Installed disabler.kext....and it works, cores at 44-45. I guess the update to 10.5.6 got rid of it....now I only have to remember how to get QE enabled again, since my dock is so choppy now, oh well....I'll post everything once I got what I want installed for any compaq/hp laptops out there

{I want my bios to cool my cpu, not 10.5.6. did it before, but can't find the thread anymore.}

Did two installs of iatkos5i 10.5.5, then upgraded online to 10.5.6, and I got everything working except my fan. I have a compaq a900, t2370, gm965...etc... After the first install my fan worked great, core temps about 45ish. I tried to resize my partitions, and it f-ed it up, so installed again.

Nonetheless, I've tried the generic... superhai's, and a s@#t load of other 'power' families. (I wish people could name the kexts zips acccording to their versions cause i have so many i'm not sure which ones are installed now). I installed the same things in the first install, except the trackpad touch app loader from someone (cant think of their name, but found it on this site) and battery.

I'm thinking of changing speedstep a to speedstep b? it's the only errors I get in the bootup, but honestly, tte speedstepping in freq works great, it just doesn't kick in the fans.

I also removed the thermal kext and acpi family one too cause fans would blaze on for a short time, then off, then on, then off.

In the first install I remember reading that I can "let my hardware or bios" take care of the cooling. How can I do this again? And what do I need to edit in the kext's, because I like my battery, sleep, and trackpad.

Thanks,

Jason

PS. Not sure who posted it, but they also did a 10.5.5 iatkos 5i on a t2370 and x3100 and whoever you are thank you! I didn't register until now, but that dude made it so easy with their 'customizations'. I would post mine, but let's see if i can get the fans working...even at a constant speed is cool, something like 'turn fan on to ___rpm as soon as mac os starts', then I can monitor the temp.
