I really want to install a copy of Mac OS X on a USB flash drive that I can take to school with me. I know that there are Torrents that contain ISOs for installation on a PC, but my BlackBook hates Torrenting (I cannot get fast speeds at all). Also, I know that there are DIY tutorials available, but I only have restore disks, and they require Retail disks. Therefore, I am wondering if I can use a 10.5.2 partition that I installed yesterday to place on a USB disk (Kingston DataTraveler 8 GB) and apply the patches from there to work on the PCs I am forced to use (Dell Optiplex 745).

As said above, I installed a copy of OS X on a partition on my BlackBook. It only has what I need and weighs in at 6.9 GB. I am wondering if I can go to my main partition and apply the patches to the new install from there. Is this possible?

just use CarbonCopyCloner to clone your partition to the USB stick and install the chameleon bootmanager on that stick, done !

It's seriously that simple?

That would completely make my day. Thank you!
