wolf
Hi all, I have red through all topics regarding serial dial up connection to Internet. I have found no solution to my problem. Here is what happens with USR 56k serial faxmodem (5630b chip): It is no problem connecting to ISP, but after loading 2-3 pages with Safari or Firefox, system panics and I need to reset. I tried different modem scripts with no success. Happens all the time. (Interestingly it does not happen when I connect via BT modem on my Sony Ericsson Z1010). I can stay connected long time as long as I do not start any browser. Could anyone with more knowledge solve this? Dial up is the only way I can get to Internet. Please help. 945gntl P4630 1gbRAM MaxtorPATA Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15473-please-help-with-56k-rs232-modems/ Share on other sites
ertz
hmmm... I'm having the exact same problem here. I even bought a Serial to USB adapter, the modem works, I don't recieve any kernel panics but the transfer speed is so slow that it becomes useless. Seems like there's no solution for this problem... And also seems that there's no interest in solving it.
