MetalFanLiam Posted February 22, 2009 Share Posted February 22, 2009 I have recently encountered problems regarding erasion of a partition of my harddrive. My laptop model is Acer Aspire 5720z. My harddrive is partitioned in the following format: Disk Partition 1 - Ubuntu 8.10 (ext3) Partition 3 - Fat32 partition where i plan to install osx86, after formatting to HFS+ extended. Partition 5 - Linux-swap I have attempted to install a few different versions of osx86, including Tiger versions 10.4.1, 10.4.8 and 10.4.11, and Kalyway leopard versions 10.5.1 and 10.5.2; all of which resulting in the same error. Once the graphical installer has loaded, i go to disk utility, where i can see all of my partitions. I highlight my partition, and attempt to erase it into HFS+ extended, but ends up with an error of "Insufficient Privilages". When i try to install leopard onto the fat32 partition, it comes up with an error of not being able to copy some files to the mounted volume.
