emymrin
I hope this post will help people struggling to run Leo on their old HP NC8230 laptops. They either see "Waiting for root device" or experience reboots during start-up. Being absolutely unfamiliar with Mac OS X, I've read hundreds of topics and tried every distro of Leo and nothing seemed to help. Until I've come across this blog describing how it's easy to install iPC 10.5.6 onto even older Dell Inspiron 600m: http://milkmanblog.wordpress.com/2009/02/0...6-on-dell-600m/ [Thank you, Milkman] Just follow those few steps described in the post. My understanding is key components which should be selected are: -Voodoo 9.5.0 kernel (because it loves your old SSE2-only processor) -Intel ICH10 SATA Support (probably to solve "waiting for root device" problem) Add old good Callisto patch and you'll have 1680x1050 resolution (but no QE/CI).
