Did anyone notice (in the Boot Camp Beta page) how Apple is "psychologically" (maybe subliminally) taking down (or looking down on...which fits better) Windows with this:

"EFI and BIOS Macs use an ultra-modern industry standard technology called EFI to handle booting. Sadly, Windows XP, and even the upcoming Vista, are stuck in the 1980s with old-fashioned BIOS. But with Boot Camp, the Mac can operate smoothly in both centuries."

....when i read it...i was like "OMG, they can't be doing this!!!...hahahahahaha", but i guess this is how companies (all over the world) sell their products as "the best choice"...

(sorry for my english, but even when i write it fine-i guess-, i'm missing some expressions)

I'm not really well versed in all this, but I don't think Apple is really taking advantage of EFI anyways. The drivers are still kernel extensions. This means the drivers are still running inside the operating system rather than inside the EFI.

The way I understand it, if you have an EFI system and you want to upgrade your graphics drivers, it would be sort of like upgrading or adding a plugin to your BIOS (EFI) rather than installing it in your OS. OS X isn't like this so apparently they're not really using EFI for what it was designed for.

Your quote mentioned "... to handle booting". Just using it for booting up the OS doesn't really take advantage of the "ultra-modern" EFI standard.
