Okay, I have installed OS X 10.4.5 on my Dell inspiron 6000, but have some problems that I didn't have when I first installed 10.4.3 or one of those really early versions. I am wondering what I have to do to remedy the following issues:

Sound does not work.

  • AppleAC97Audio.kext
  • AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext

Trackpad does not work.

  • ApplePS2Controller.kext
  • ApplePS2Controller.kext/Contents/Plugins/ApplePS2Trackpad.kext
  • ApplePS2Controller.kext/Contents/Plugins/ApplePS2Mouse.kext

Must start up with an external monitor attached. When I do, I get 1280x800 resolution. Would like it if I don't have a monitor attached, and still retain the resolution.

My wireless does not work. I understand that it is possible with certain wireless cards. However, mine is an Intel wireless card.

Thanks for any help. I have been out of the whole osx86 thing for a while due to excessive load from school. If you don't feel like writing, but have a link, post it, anything will help. Thanks!

Copy over the kext from 10.4.3. That's what I had to do.

That's a bit more strange. But try the same (copying kexts from previous version). If that doesn't work, try this.

*shrug* I thought most dell's were broadcom, but I guess if it's centrino it can't be...
