Hey, I'm trying to install Iatkos 5i, Mac OSX86 Leopard 10.5.5 on my Acer Aspire 4720z laptop. I'm already running Xp, Windows 7 beta and Ubuntu 8.10 Linux. SATA AHCI harddrive, 1.73ghz Intel Dual Core. Hitachi hts542512k9sa00... 110gb Harddrive. I hope this isn't too ready, I just thought that I should post as much info as possible! So I had a successful installation, and then when I boot w/o the DVD it goes: "boot0: error". Afraid I lost my data, I reinstalled Ubuntu linux and got Grub's OS choices menu up. So then I reinstalled Iatkos 5i MacOSX. The grub menu disappeared along with gpartitioner, and now I'm left with the Windows OS loader menu given to me by Windows 7. I tried the Mickey Mouse trick--it just restarts my laptop when I choose it from the OS menu. Please help. Plus I don't know all what drivers to install. Its already the active partition. Darwin -v When I run -v off the bootDVD I get good loads on HFS, good dsmos, good touchpad, good acpi, bad "ERROR: FirWire Unable to determine security mode", Got boot device, "Jettisoning kernal linker" "localhost kextd[47]: can't add repository", "localhost kext[47]: root filesystem is read-only: skipping kernal link data genration" "localhost DirectoryService[51]: Launched version 5.0 (v514)", "localhost diskarbitrariond[44]:unable to mount /dev/disk0s1 (status code 0x0000.0047). and no mount disk0s5 or disk0s7 coreRAIDserver [43]:19459 not respnding Installer Then the installer boots fine, sometimes I can use the keyboard, sometimes not, so I can insert terminal code on a good run. Why is the installer booting and not the Leopard OS? So I press 'continue', use diskutility to erase a specefied partition for Mac os with MAC OS EXTENDED (Journaled), erase, select the new partition, click customize. I select iATKOS v5i Main System, PC EFI V9 bootloader, AppleDecrypt, SMBIOS-EFI Air, 9.5.0 Kernel voodoo, x86 ACPI, Intel AHCI SATA, Intel Speedstep A, Laptop Battery and NTFS-3G. I don't select network or vids based on what I read on the net, minimal installs are best. I click "Done", and then "Install", I skip the Check Installation DVD Installer Log errors localhost LCA[84]: Folder Manager is being asked to create a folder cach while running as Uid0 localhost OSInstaller[135]: Foldermanager is being asked to create a folder (asav) while running as uid 0 ''':CPSGetProcessinf():This call is deprecated and should not be called anymore, CPSPBGetProcessInfo() also deprecated some lines on DiskUtility and successful erase. No more errors. Disk0s6 is Apple_HFS with /Volumes/MACOSX lots of local host/volumes/macosx/private/tmp/ Good extraction. Good post extract process.. Successful Installation, "INSTALL SUCCEEDED" The Computer will restart in 29 seconds. Do I leave the DVD in here or take it out?? Goes to black screen with text "Fri Feb 20 06:50:40 localhost..." Restarts I'm leaving the DVD in to see what happens, no press keys for boot. -v again to see if it runs installer, if it does I'm going to reboot w/o DVD in. Firewire Error again. Unable to mount and CoreRAIDServer not responding again. Yeah, it boots the installer again. I reboot w/o DVD. Mac OSX Leopard choice still up in Windows OS loader after I insterted the chain0 code into boot.ini, I try it, restarts pc. I'm gonna try BCDedit and see what that does. Any suggestions? Tried to boot with DVD "-s" option I got: Extension "com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernal and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style.
