mksoftware
UPDATE: FIXED I have fixed the problem by using the maxmem=3072 command. Hi! Writing this from my Iatkos 10.5.5 installation. I tried both the XxX and IDeneb releases but I kept getting Waiting for Root device errors with these. The Iatkos disc was installed succesfully but is really unstable when using quite heavy apps. Videocard works, sound works. When I unrar like 71 *.rar files with UnrarX or any other RAR application the system will crash after unrarring about 14 or 15 of them. When this happens I see a grey line coming from the top of the screen. When I open up a lot heavy applications the system will also crash on a sudden moment with the grey line coming from the top of the screen. System crash: Notice gray line on top! This is my pc setup: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS5 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Memory: 4 Ghz Ram (OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC6400, CL4) Video: Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT 128 MB Ram. These are the settings I have manually selected during the install of Iatkos: Kernel: Voodoo 9.5.0 (I tried Vanilla already, same crashing results) ACPI: x86 modified ACPI driver for PS2 mouse/keyboard OHR: Driver for freeze issues on shutdown/reboot. Chipset: I selected the ICH 4 to 9 driver. I have searched the forum and googled a lot about this but cannot find relative problems. I hope someone can help me out here, thanks !!
