Mrkleen Posted February 16, 2009 Share Posted February 16, 2009 ok so ive resorted to posting on the forums after weeks of working on this and searching everytime i ran into a problem but no ive seemed to run to a dead end so sorry if this is already been answered i couldnt find it if it has. after about 10 or 15 tries (and after losing everything on my hdd abt 5 or so) i finally got the OS to install. im using zephyroth leopard and it installed beautifully...or so i thohught. After the install i couldnt figure out how to boot into Zephiroth instead of win xp. so i downloaded something called bootdisk (i think is wat its called) after following a tutorial on this site and i made that partition the active one with the program thinkin this would automatically boot into it but it did not. instead it made it so i couldnt boot back into win xp and i got an error that said no OS. When i do have it installed and i hit escape to get into the boot menu all i see is the winxp (this is after having to reinstall everything including win xp). The only reason ive resorted to posting here is bc im kinda getting tired of doing a complete reformat of my system lol. Please help me get this dual boot to work!! Guest Posted February 17, 2009 Share Posted February 17, 2009 You might want to try the Chain0 method.. google and wiki are your friend, just requires a simple download of the file and editing the boot.ini file in Win XP.. I set it up the Chain0 method first and then used my install DVD (iPC 10.5.6), installed etc then on restart used Paragon Hard Disk Manager CD to make Win XP partition Active and Mac partition inactive. Then restart, woot, i have an option of booting into Mac OSX and Win XP, choose one and boot. Then to change the booting time just edit the boot ini file in Win XP, simple.
