OK, so I was having trouble getting Atkos i5 installed on my GX280. I finally got it working and thought I'd share my experiences for others who might run into some of the same problems.

First, Make sure you put your SATA controller in compatibility mode. I also disabled my onboard Ethernet controller, but not sure if I had to or not. Then select all the options under customize (if I didn't the system would not boot once installed).

OK, here's where I ran into trouble. About ½ way though the install the screen goes blank. So I kept shutting down my system and restarting. WRONG, just let it keep going, the install will continue even though you can't see anything.

When it is complete it will reboot automatically and with a little luck you will be up and running!

I just thought this might save someone some headache.

My specs were:

GX280 (standard dell config)

Pentium 4 2.80 GHz

2 GB of RAM

40 gig (SATA compatibility mode)

DVD

onboard Intel GMA900

onboard Ethernet controller (disabled)

onboard audio

Power saver settings on the installer. If your screen goes blank, just move the mouse. It shuts the display off after about 45% of the installer. I think it's like 5 or so minutes into it? Or at least it is on my B130 laptop. (Which I am having a heck of a time with, atm.) Not sure if it does that with a desktop install as well though.

Just curious, if you try to boot the iAtkos dvd after installing, does it get to the blue screen after the grey apple screen and then freeze? I've been running into that issue trying to find the right settings for the B130 install. iAtkos is the first one that will even boot for me too.
