Hi people,

I just wondering to know if my hardware specs can support iDeneb 10.5.6 or not?

I tried to install more than 4 times and no lucky, if i don't select any video drivers, after

restart i have a lot of messages like this with -v option "flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5",

this is happens when i choose any video driver, if i choose HD3850 driver i have and STOP icon at the center of boot screen...

My motheboard do not support AHCI or compatible mode and i'm tryin' to install at a IDE HDD 80GB. I tried also with the hdd at master and the dvd in slave mode both at primary port, also separeted each one at IDE primary/secundary ports as masters. I have installed the 10.4.2 at another pc running smooth but i want to try on this one with the latest releasem, if is possible off course.

AHCI is only for sata if I'm not mistaken... As for whether anyone else got it to work.. I don't know many people that have tried on servers before, so it'll be hard to find someone that has. So the next question would be - what's wrong? Why doesn't it work? And in case you haven't already tried doing so, type -cpus=1 -v at boot. I know it has troubles with my dual core AMD, I can only imagine what it'll have with a dual socket mother. In fact, I would suggest simply taking out one cpu and (I know little about the bios and needs with a server) disable it in the bios. While you're in there, if there's something you're not using, disable it for now as well. Then, when an error goes wrong, try posting it

For anyone still interested, hnak made a driver to support many unsupported PATA/SATA devices. It works in both Snow Leopard and Leopard. I have confirmed myself that this driver works with the Sil3114, but only on port 0 and 1. You can download it here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=201917
