jchoi
Hello, I have iDeneb 1.3 Mac OS X 10.5.5 installed on my system. The system specs are Motherboard: XFX nForce 680i LT SLI CPU: Intel Q6600 with stock speed at 2.4 GHz overclocked to 2.7GHz RAM: 2x1GB Corsair 240-PIN PC6400 DDR2 800 SDRAM Video: eVGA GeForce 8600 GTS w/ 512 MB vRAM Audio: onboard Realtek HD audio Ethernet: onboard ODD: TSST-Corp DVD RW drive HDD: Samsung 200 GB SATA, Maxtor 200 GB IDE, Western Digital 500 GB SATA HDD All HDDs have only one partition. Windows XP is installed on Maxtor IDE, iDeneb is on Samsung SATA and WD SATA is used for data storage. kexts/kernel I used to install iDeneb are Chipset: AppleNForceATA Kernel: 9.4.0 Stage XNU Audio: AppleAzaliaAudio Video: NVInject 0.2.1 512 MB Ethernet: eno's nForceLAN 0.62.12n Everything works alright, almost. Here is the problem: When I try to update OS X to 10.5.6 using Mac's Software Update, the system crashes with "your system needs to be restarted by holding down the power button or pressing restart button" message during installation process (after downloading is all done). After this, I can't boot to OS X anymore. I tried several boot options (-s -x -f), but no matter what I try, I always get the same error logs in yellow fonts and the booting hogs with "Still waiting for root device" message. So basically, the 10.5.6 update in normal way does not work. Any suggestion on this please? Thanks.
