member326495
Hi! I'm going through the same process as you! I'm trying to upgrade from 5.2 to 5.6 and I just found this guide, it's easy to understand but it will take few hours. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=152801 I'm trying to find out if there isn't possible to jump straight to 5.6 from 5.2 and after reading few threads here there might be a way. The way is with a pre and post update patches but I can't seem to find them. Mysticus c (<-- Username) is supposed to have the solution somewhere in the forum but I can't find it! I'll let you know if I find something new out and if you should stumble across this please let me know best regards, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153269-kalyway-1052-w-voodoo-kernel-1056-update-help/#findComment-1082498 Share on other sites
motorhead67
Thanks for the reply. I attempted the update last night using the netkas method and ended up bricking my machine. I now plan on skipping the whole update process by installing iPC 10.5.6. Ill post again when the install is finished but the sheer number of options in the install process have me questioning if i have picked the right ones. member326495
Yeah... I found the pre and post patches and tried the update from 5.2 to 5.5 but it just went into a restarting circle. Every time I run osx it just restarts the computer right away :/ I'm going to try the 5.3 kalyway combo update and move my way from there! I'll let you know how things go! member326495
Hi there!! Just wanted to let you know I stopped looking for shortcuts and just did the method I linked to in my first post and now I'm writing from 10.5.5 I'm holding back the last update until kalyway has something official out and I only need 5.5 to install iPhone SDK.. which is way I installed OS X on my PC.. Good luck updating!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153269-kalyway-1052-w-voodoo-kernel-1056-update-help/#findComment-1083955 Share on other sites
