mr_han_solo
Hello, I am wanting to build a matx hackintosh, that is capable of running boot camp or windows in parallels for my GPS/GIS program. I will use the hackintosh for everyday use aswell as some photoshop. Here is my build so far: Motherboard: GA-G31M-ES2L $51 Processor: E7200 $119 RAM Memory: 4GB $40 Video: EVga Geforce 9600 $80.00 I will use my existing 10,00K Raptor and DVD-RW drive. I am looking for a recomendation on a case with the footprint near that of a Mac Mini. I am wanting a really small box for my desktop. Also, if their are any further reccomendations let me know. I'm wanting to keep this PC below the $350 range. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153253-rate-my-build/ Share on other sites
MaaseyRacer
I'd give it a 6. You may want to find a newer board if you can fit it into your budget. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153253-rate-my-build/#findComment-1081769 Share on other sites

mattrb
My buddy has the GA-G33M-S2L and it works with sound and lan with retail disk. These 2 are the same motherboards. Msg me if you need help setting up retail. Dont do distribution because it was months of trouble for my buddy and now the clouds have dissipated and retail is the solution. Get the retail disk on pirate bay Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153253-rate-my-build/#findComment-1082350 Share on other sites
mr_han_solo
So is the Geforce 9600 going to work with retail? I am wanting the most trouble free installation as possible. I have been reading posts with people having trouble with the 9600's. Could I settle with a 8800GS without a problem? Also, the case I have chosen comes with a 300W power supply. Is it going to be good enough, or will i need to get a bigger one? The board works great for everything EXCEPT the on board video. You're going to need a card.
