Osc'
I've went out on a search on this motherboard related to OSx86 and didn't appear to be good. I wouldn't want to resort to a new motherboard and I'm not keen on updating the BIOS either so if you got a solution or any help on this. I'd appreciate it. Onto the problem, I'm using iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5's release after experiencing issues with Kalyway, iATKOS and Leo4All. The problem is, is that it freezes during boot. I also typed in the parameter '-v' to indicate what the problem is. I got at the last line saying "Still waiting for root device". I must be doing something wrong. Again, any help or solutions would be appreciated. -Osc' Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153087-issue-with-asrock-4core1600twins-p35/ Share on other sites
Julio UK
Hi, I also have this board and was trying to install many diferent versions of MAC without success. But, after buy another wrong board, I realize on the iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 there is an option just for our board, under Fix. It is the ACPI fix. Because the onboard video is a no go for the MAC, I'm using a ATI HD3650, which gave me a blurry Welcome screen. Than, on the startup countdown, I hit any key, and typed -x It than boot on MAC Welcome screen, but in Safe mode. I rebooted again and deleted all the kext for NVIDIA. (using /sbin.... and delete: rm -R xxxx.kext) Now it boots on MAC alright, with resolution up to 1680x1400 (on 22" screen). But I have no sound. If you don't want to strugle doing all this, navigate to osx86 wiki, looking for the distro you want and, see a motherboard which works Out of the Box without patches or fixes, but follow the install process. Hope that helps Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/153087-issue-with-asrock-4core1600twins-p35/#findComment-1082145 Share on other sites
Osc'
What packages did you select prior to installation? I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT 512MB so I don't think the graphics card ain't a problem for me. For sound, I think you need to download the ALC888 package. There's also the Taruga version of the package so if you selected the non-Taruga version then get the Taruga version instead.
