Nemesish3d
Hey all, Since I have a SATA disk with nForce4 chipset I followed this tutorial: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...ATA_hard_drives I installed Mac OSX 10.4.5 ( osx86_10.4.5_amd-intel_sse2-3.iso ) succesfully using all this steps. When running it straight from the disk using VMWare, it boots without any problem. But unfortunality, when I want to boot it, it hangs on "Still waiting for root device". I am pretty sure I installed the SATA driver succesfully, since it does load a few things and in the past, without the driver, it just totally ignored the mac os partition. I tried the usual solutions for avoiding this message ( http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...e.22_message.3F ), but unfortunality this didn't help. So to be honest, I don't have a clue where to search. There is only one thing that gets my attention when running the tutorial. When executing the command "kextcache -m /System/Library/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleVIAATA.kext" to add the SATA driver to the automatic startup, I get the following warning: warning: kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleVIAATA.kext is missing dependencies (including in cache anyway; dependencies may be available from elsewhere) Since the tutorial doesn't talk about these warnings, I presume this might be the bottleneck, though while booting I presume to see the SATA driver is loaded succesfully. Does anyone have a clue for me where to search? Just one more fact, but I don't think thát matters: my harddisk is connected on the SATA-3 port, not the SATA-1. Ohw yeah, and I installed both the AMD support and the Intel-support... Nemesish3d
the last kick then No-one else with about the same specs where it DOES work? If so, maybe I can get your AppleVIAATA.kext file or something...
