Hi

First of all, I wanted to say Thanks, I got XxX Tiger 10.4.11 installed on my Dell Latitude D510, and I installed XxX 10.5.6, it went fine but when I launched Chess it didn't start, same goes for iCal, Garageband and VLC, they show up and then crash. and so I installed iPC 10.5.6 thinking it might solve my problem, but then again it didn't, I still had the same problem.

Is it happening to anyone else??? Is there any solution for this problem??? Is it related to the fact that these applications don't work on Leopard 10.5.6?? :D

I have a Dell Latitude D510

2gigs RAM

Pentium M 1.73ghz

GMA915 128mb

HDD 55gb

My best regards

Othmam :P

It sounds like QE/CI is disabled. Use (or download and use if you don't have) OSx86 Tools and see if it's enabled. If not, enable it. If you still can't enable it, make sure you have your graphics kexts/drivers installed correctly.

Thanks WilliamDaBastrd for your reply

I had QE/CI enabled in the XxX distro, and disabled in the iPC one, and still the same applications crashed.

I don't know if it has something to do with Leopard 10.5.6. Should I try XxX 10.5.5??

Sorry I took so long to reply. It could be an issue with 10.5.6, it seems a lot of people are getting issues after the upgrade.

Also, if the same apps crash, then maybe your hardware isn't compatible or you have a broken copy of the software.

Hey there.. i'm running iPC 10.5.6 and i have no problems with any of those apps at all... only issue i have is that occasionally using the onboard sound, i lose the audio server after using VLC or Garageband.. using the SB Audigy Plat it doesn't happen..

It might be something else to do with a kext you're poss running or not running?? try a few different install options on the iPC installer and see if its one of them.

(exp: i found out i can't run the VoodooPower on my pc as it halts the system..)

Thnx Guys for the replies.

So I installed iDeneb 10.5.6 and all those applications worked again, I also got voodoo power working, which stopped my computer from overheating. But now the problem I'm facing is that after 3 or 4 hours I will get a KP when working on the computer, something to do with a BSD Process named "lssave".

Do you know what I can do about that ????

P.S: I'm using the voodoo kernel 9.5.0
