weird problem with SATA

Hi,

 

i was looking across serveral forums to find any solution for my problem. But there seems to be no one out there with the same problem.

 

First of all, my system configuration:

 

Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-EP35 DS3

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

RAM: 4 GB (2 x 2GB) @ 800MHz G-skill

DVD: LG H10N IDE

HDD: Seagate SATAII 160 GB

VGA: Geforce 8800 GT 512MB

 

Now my problem:

I tried using iPC 10.5.6 Universal ppf6 and iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 so far. when I am trying to install, my HDD is never found / shown.

 

the boot works just fine, but when i'm ask to select the volume to install, there is nothing shown at all.

 

I tried various bios settings, i figured out on serveral forums, but nothing worked at all.

 

What you might need to know: I have a problem with my chipset, cause my Intel ICH9 SATA Controller seems to be damaged. Though I was using the JMicron Controller for my PC with Vista and that work fine.

 

with iDeneb, i opened the system Profiler and looked at SATA. The JMicron Controller was successfully recognized but my HDD didn't appear?

 

does anyone has a hint or a conclusion for me?

 

Maybe its dumb topic, but im out of ideas.
