mac.wannabe
Hi! I'm new here. I'm gonna buy a PC soon, I was thinking something like: Motherboard: Any ASUS microATX P5Q Series Motherboard (G45: P5Q-EM, P5Q-VM G43: P5QL-EM, P5QL-CM), CPU: E8400 or similar dual core chip, RAM: Mushkin 1.8V DDR2 800mHz 2x2GB kit (or any similar) Case: Antec NSK 3480: 80-Plus Case (good silent 80+ power supply included), GPU: Any video card, as long as its fanless and doesn't heat that much, Gainward GeForce 9500 GT "Silent" seems fine, DVD Burner: Anyone that will work (any suggestions?), HDD: A 2,5" hard disc + Artic Silver 5 + Ninja 2 CPU Cooler Now I have a few questions: 1) What motherboard should I get? On which one I have the best chances of installing and running OS X Leopard? 2) Will there be any problems or will OS X run like if it was on legit apple hardware? As I understand, all I will have to do is flash the BIOS with this rom, install retail OX X and everything should work. 3) Would anyone change any hardware? Or is the one listed OK? 4) Which DVD should I use for installation (iDenebi, iAtkos or retail OS X DVD)? What abouth the drivers? 5) I have this "High-Speed Mode Wireless G Desktop Network Card" from Belkin at home, will it work? I think it will work (this card worked on Win XP with drivers for a totaly different wireless card from a totaly different company - crazy), what do you think - will it work? 6) Should I buy now or wait, coz Snow Leopard will be released soon. Any help, opinion is more than welcomed! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/152156-new-setup-for-a-hackintosh/ Share on other sites
