MisaMilosevic
I use iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 installed with following options: Default vanilla kernel ICH and JMicron chipset kexts ALC 883 plain audio driver ATI HD base kexts Shut Down Fix (video kext for Radeon 2600HD for 10.5.x added later) The system works flawlessly except for sreensaver and sleep modes which never activate. As i was preparing the system for 10.5.6 upgrade, I noticed there was no AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext in the extensions folder and I understand it should be there with Vanilla kernel. Is this normal? Should I install the Disabler.kext then anyway before going up to 10.5.6? Also, why the screensaver and sleep do not run? Thank you in advance. My hardware: Intel Dual Core 2GHz Asus P5K ATI Radeon EAH2600HD ALC883 on-board soundcard Attansic L1 ethernet card Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/151962-cant-find-appeintelcpukext-in-extensions-folder/ Share on other sites
westwaerts
AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext crashes nearly every install and cannot be run with vanilla kernel. ( if you update with apple update, it will be reinstalled, and leads to kernel panic) therefore the disabler.kext has been written. it disables AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext to be loaded and EFIRuntime.kext too.
