acgaustin
I feel like a complete idiot here for even having to post this but I am getting exceedingly frustrated. I've got a toshiba portege r500 sitting here with no cd/dvd rom drive and other than wifi it appears to meet the specs to get most things running. I've got iDeneb, iAtkos, IPC... I'm ready to install. By virtue of having no cd/dvd and my cheapness in refusing to by an external dvd drive I am trying to make due with my 16 gig thumbdrive and boot to that. The BIOS fully supports it but for the life of me I can't figure out how to copy the iso (burn.. yes i know you cant really burn) to the thumdrive. Thank you in advance to anybody who can provide me a quick idiots guide to taking an iso and an unpartitioned usb thumdrive and making the thumdrive boot and begin the install. I'm on a macbook leopard 10.5.6 btw... Thank you! acgaustin
I finally found the solution: http://www.insanelymac.com/2009/02/make-bo...aller-yourself/ The part that was confusing to me and (maybe) to other newbs was how to install the EFI stuff, good how to. Hello, Did you manage to get the R500 to work well with OSX? What works and what doesn't? Thanks in advance. idc Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/151940-how-to-create-a-bootable-osx86-usb-thumb-drive/#findComment-1157160 Share on other sites
