techminus Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Acer Extensa 7620Z Intel Pentium T2130 GM965 Chipset Goes through install without issue. Used GMA x3100 which the laptop has. After initial install completes and reboots, goes through normal boot and screen goes black. Has cursor and occasional spinning wheel. Also has audio (Mac intro) which I can hear running. Laptop only has VGA, I attempted to use external monitor with no success. Any help would be appreciated. I am currently researching, but I figured I should concurrently post the topic since I didn't find anything on an initial search. EDIT: Also used Vanilla kernel, Atheros wireless, and Intel ICH7xxx/8xxx Update: Video boots with -x switch into safe mode. 2nd Update: Found a possible solution on the forum. Fresh install without selecting GMA X3100, trying now.
