drjazz1947 Posted February 5, 2009 Share Posted February 5, 2009 Hello I used the IPC OSX86 10.5.6 DVD to install 10.5.6 on the EEE1000HA which uses the Atheros 5007 wifi chip instructions http://www.enik.ch/2009/01/osx-leopard-1056-on-the-eeebox/ under install customize ,I also chose ps2 fix (so that keyboard & trackpad work) I also chose atheros 5007 under wifi drivers OSX prefs network panel now thinks I have a Airport extreme (0x168c, 0x1026) card but wont let me enable it. Also in sys profiler shows audio Intel High Def (0x1043831A) but does not show up in sys prefs as an audio device One extra info--> when booting into osx with -v (verbose ) the verbose boot dialog shows atheros 5424AB with a mac ID 00: etc so it seems to find some wifi hardware Do I need to obtain some kexts for audio & wifi and where do I get them? The sound: The sound works if you first download the eeeboot disk from http://www.pd.net/eeeboot/. There are several versions I have tried 1.09 and 1.11. I don't remember which one I had success with but I don't think the sound files are any different. The disk is booting an Eeepc but also contains several utilities which is what we want. Then you need to follow the directions at this page http://eeemac.blogspot.com/. You have to scroll down a ways and find the first post by the author. There he gives instructions on how to get the sound working. Wireless: I have never got my wifi to work but I just got iPC osx86 10.5.6 so I will give it shot.
