kramlin
Hi all, Gigabyte P35-DS3L (intel) and Nvidia 8800GT I installed 10.5.1 Kalyway, vanilla kernel, and it was successful. I then applied the kalyway combo update to 10.5.3 and also the vanilla kernel package, THEN rebooted, and did the F8 thing with "update -v" as per the instructions with the package. The computer will hang at the white apple boot screen. I can't get into the system at all. I also tried booting with the installation DVD but I exited the installation, and now when I boot I just get a plain error that says "b0 error", it won't even get to the white apple boot screen. It's a dual hard drive system (the other hard drive is SATA with Windows 7). If I boot directly off the other hard drive I can get into Windows. How would I solve this "b0 error" and also get 10.5.3 working? Thanks! I've found something that should fix the "b0" error. Now, any ideas on getting 10.5.3 booting? kramlin
Ended up erasing and reinstalling. This time, used the EFI MBR, did the 10.5.3 combo update, ran the kernel installer but skipped installing any kernels, rebooted, installed the delta for 10.5.4 and rebooted. All OK, but then I used the universal installer from PcWiz to install a package for my motherboard along with the time machine and ethernet fix and video card EFI string, and now I can't boot past the white apple screen again... BlazingEd
Boot using -v and tell us on which line it hangs. I am having the same issue. I have the jMicron controller and now a lot of the codes are yellow. It hangs after Got Boot Device =IOService:/Apple ......... ATABLockStorageDevice/IOBlockStorageDriver/ST33006222a ST33006222a *(This is my HDD code i Think) BSD root : disk5s2, major 14, minor 12 I installed 10.5.2 with the JMicron updated image to get it to boot. Followed the instruction and ran the install of 10.5.3 and the kernal patch. After reboot it hangs as above. Any ideas? Or is there anyway to install a pre patched 10.5.6?
