First. Go and download PCWIZ's DSDT Patcher GUI and then the Disabler.kext HERE

 

Second. Run the DSDT Patcher GUI- Choose Darwin / Mac OS X (duh). Then check the 3 check boxes to the right. Select your hard drive. Click run DSDT Patcher button.

let it do it's thang.

 

Third. Unzip (if you haven't already) the Disabler.kext to your desktop. Use Kext Helper (probably found in the iDeneb folder in your Applications folder if you installed it when you installed iDeneb) Drag and drop the kext into the program. Type in your password and click "Easy Install"

 

Go to Software Update... Choose only the 10.5.6 update for now, grab some dill pickle sunflower seeds, sit back and relax.

I followed all of the steps you listed and everything seemed to install correctly, no errors on the patcher, kexthelper or the actual apple update.

 

upon reboot the system tries to load and gets to a point and automatically reboots

 

-v doesn't show me the last thing trying to load before rebooting (screen scrolls by too fast)

 

-f -x don't seem to change anything, it still gets to about 4 seconds and then automatically reboots

Cool! And what about the other Software Update found in Applications with a diferent icon? Looks like a intel/amd icon mix...

Try the cpus=1 flag. This might help with your problem.
