I would recommend Canon printers, I had an old i450 and it worked great on both OS X and Windows. I currently have a Canon IP4500 color inkjet which works flawlessly with OS X, I have not tried it with Windows. I would also recommend that if you find a couple potential printers, you go to the manufacture's web site and look to see if they have any OS X drivers for the model you are considering. Good luck.

colour, b/w? budget? laser/inkjet?

I've got a Konica-Minolta Magicolor 2550. it has some paper feed problems (nothing a chopstick doesn't fix :( but it has been running for 18 months. Nice prints, not bad speed, never need to look at it, about 15 cents/page big colour pages, I've got duplexer so half the amount of paper.... not bad price tho I haven't checked them out lately. Drivers are very civilized (no bloat) Mac, Win, Linux support...
