Intel E6600 4 Gig Ram Gigabyte 965p DS3 1x Samsung 500 Gb Sata 2x Seagate 350 Gb Sata 1x Nec DVD Burner Asus 8800GTS 640 Linksys WMP54G Wireless Logitech Quickcam PRO 9000 All Harddisks are connected on the First four yellow SATA ports, so not on the Purple Raid connectors. Most important Bios Settings: AHCI Off Raid Controller Off Sound card On Network Card On Installation manual: 1 Get copy of Kalyway 10.5.2 and IPC 10.5.6. Final 2 Install Kalyway 10.5.2 3 Then install the following drivers. -Changed 4Gig VIA ATA kext : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=127611 -Nvinject 640 from IPC 10.5.6. DVD -HDApatcher from IPC 10.5.6 DVD 4 Then install IPC 10.5.6. over the current Kalyway installation, so dont erase harddisk ! 5 Now you got a 95% working OSX86 installation. What doesnt work: Only the Nvidia card doesnt support Quartz Extreme, hopefully someone knows which nvidia kext works on 10.5.6. and enables this. Thats it, the os works flawless, very fast harddisk access (with old not patched Kext sometimes crashes when heavy file transfers, now thats solved). Network is fast, Webcam works out of the box, Soundcard work perfect. I am very happy with my current installation, but you can make me more happy by giving me the direction to solve the Quartz Extreme problem with my nvidia 8800 gts 640 card. I have an 8800 GTX 768 I got it working with QE on 10.5.6 using NVinject and inserting my Device ID into NVinject.kext, NVDANV50.kext, GeForce.kext, and NVDAResman.kext (there is plenty of info out there on how to do this) Specs : AMD X2 6000+ (3.2 GHZ Dual Core 65nm) (Using Voodoo 9.5 RC) ASUS M2N32-SLI MB 1 8800 GTX 768 (Using NVinject 2.1) Silicon 3132 Sata (Using SATA test kext) on board ADI1988B (Using targura ADI1988b kext) On board Nforce LAN (using forcedeth) Still testing with RAM, I have 4GB of ram now and I will eventually get a kernel panic, I will test with only 3GB. Hope this helps, I will be glad to share any info I have obtained while messing with this stuff. As of now I have a 7 year old Dell 8200 running OSX 10.4.8 Tiger and my Desktop PC which is the above specs running 10.5.6 Leopard. -D Update: For working 8800 GTX I also replaced all NV* and GeF* kexts with 10.5.5 kexts and then edited I am testing sata now with non test NforceATA which also fixes 4GB issue. Beware of IO errors with the test kext. I searched the net and found this link: http://scottdangel.com/blog/?page_id=20 I downloaded the 9f23 pack and i installed it,.. with adding the EFI string my 8800GTS is fully working ! Now i still need to fix my shut down / restart problems which occasionally occur. Also experimenting now with Time machine, but this made me fall back to kalyway 10.5.2... Anyway i now know how to create a fine installation.
