I used to run the deadmoo installation and that worked perfectly both native and VMWare. I downloaded iLife '06 and it told me that i need 10.4.4 or later to install. I managed to install it on my 10.4.3 deadmoo installation, but it wouldnt run, so i figured that I actually do need a 10.4.4 intsallation to make it run, it wasnt just that apple didnt want it running on the Developer Kit. So, I tried that universal disc going around. 10.4.5 doesn't work atall (I used maxxuss patches to make it boot) and gave me a load of kernel panics. but 10.4.4 (maxxuss patches) goes through all the right stuff, and gives me the 'Still Waiting For Root Device' error. So I copied over the IOATAFamilty.kext from 10.4.3 to 10.4.4, but it still gave me the error.

So I dont get why my SATA drive works in 10.4.3, but not 10.4.4, even with same kexts and setup. How do I fix this?

PS:

My 10.4.4 installation gives an error during startup saying it cant load AppleIntelPIIXPATA butmy 10.4.3 seems to load them and posts some script about PIIX4 or something and then some stuff after it, im guesisng that's just some stuff about the SATA drive.

What image was that, because i can't boot the image i've downloaded either, and it seems to be the same problem where the sata harddrives get all confused with the ide dvd-drives.... does this really mean i have to download a new dvd image? because this one i had working in vmware ...
