MithrilFox
I've noticed a few posts about this, but the answers don't seem unified. Perhaps there are many causes, but here's my situation: Everything seems to work pretty darn well, with few problems. One catch though is that my About this Mac reports the CPU as "3.8GHz Unknown." Any idea if this is just a reporting problem or a genuine attempt by my system to run at 3.8GHz? I'm pretty confident that my system is running an Intel Core 2 Duo 3GHz, though I don't have the box and can't find an program to make a reliable test yet (haven't installed Windows so I've just got the Hackintosh going). I know for sure it's an Intel Core 2 Duo, just the GHz might be one step up (3.33GHz maybe). At any rate, I'm wondering if the BIOS issues on my ASUS could "fix it." I have everything set to auto, including the Auto-tune (it seems to be a sort of automatic overclock, or automatically downclock based on heat issues). I really don't notice any speed issues compared to my iMac, but then again, I've never had an installation of Leopard on this machine that didn't report the CPU wrong (installed twice so far). My system, other than this, seems pretty solidly stable. Torrents bring my web surfing to a halt, and I can't go into Sleep mode properly, but other than that no troubles.
