gwurb
Hi All, Need some help. The card does not see any networks and joining 'Other' gives a connection timeout. Show networks does not show any active networks in the area. Put this card into the PC and it was detected as an Airport. Unfortunately it does not see any wireless networks. I've gone through all the instructions in: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=51725 EDIT: As part of above, have tried http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=83428 and no joy when I manually run commands specified there, have not tried making the script. END EDIT. No luck. Here is some information from /var/log/system.log *EDIT* after 10.5.6 from 10.5.4 update the following is also seen: kernel[0]: wl0: Broadcom BCM4320 802.11 Wireless Controller kernel[0]: AirPort_Brcm43xx: Ethernet address 00:0f:66:6f:ff:59 kernel[0]: AirPort: Link Down on en1 *EDIT* airportd[21]: Error: ACInterfaceGetPowerPreference() called with invalid interface airportd[21]: Error: Not an ACInterfaceRef (null) (and after I tried joining Other network) airportd[1515]: Error: __ACNetworkAssociate() failed to find XXXXX airportd[1515]: Error: process_command_dict() failed System Preferences[1206]: Error: airportd MIG failed = -6 ((null)) (port = 37411) System Preferences[1206]: Error joining XXXXX: Connection timeout (-6 timeout connecting) lspci PCITools output 02:04.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 03) Subsystem: Linksys Device 0015 Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap- 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort+ >SERR- <PERR- INTx- Latency: 0 Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 18 Region 0: Memory at fdefe000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) System Profiler detects AirPort Card Information: Wireless Card Type: Third Party Wireless Card Current Wireless Network: wireless network not available ifconfig shows en1: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 ether 00:0f:66:6f:ff:59 media: autoselect (<unknown type>) status: inactive supported media: autoselect en2: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::211:95ff:fe89:98e6%en2 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x5 inet 192.168.1.1 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255 ether 00:11:95:89:98:e6 media: autoselect (<unknown type>) status: active supported media: autoselect (en2 is showing as it was plugged in to get this net connection going) The card does work in Vista 64. I have tried WPA/WPA/no security. I am not sure what I am missing - I've searched the forums for some time now. On the card it says WMP54GV2/3839A-WMP54GS. Help with this would be great. Thanks. EDIT: 1) Running 10.5.6 . Updated from 10.5.2 2) en2 is RT2500 USB based Wifi adapter END EDIT.
