aehirst Posted February 1, 2009 Share Posted February 1, 2009 Im trying to install a retail OSX using this guide. I have a P5k-E and a 8800GT. The install only gets to the fancy apple background and a spinning beach ball. Has anyone any idea why? I have removed everything except the MB and GFX card and the same thing happens. I was also wondering what is the diffrence between installing from a retail disk and a kalyway disk? walterav Posted February 3, 2009 Share Posted February 3, 2009 anyone spinning beach ball... google is your friend.... it might be that dsmos.kext is not on the boot132 disc..., look in the initrd.img on the pre-boot disc for that extension, if its not there you get beach ball...
