seanmcgpa
I have a flawlessly running Hackintosh Pro rig - Xeon Quad Core X3350 2.66GHz, 8GB memory, 4 TB raid (4 x 1TB drives in software raid), nvidia 8800 all running on a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L. iDeneb 10.5.5. Everything just "works" - it's been up and running without a single reboot for months. I play World of Warcraft, encode video, it's really a dream machine. I do want to move to 10.5.6 for iLife 09, etc. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to do this? mikeveli20
I was able to update to 10.5.6 rather successfully. The major problems I had was the need to reinstall the kexts for my onboard audio and network as well as the IOPCIFamily kext so that my M-Audio card would be recognized. I followed the instructions here to prepare my system for the update. I'm using the Vanilla kernel and so far the only problems I have because of the update is me getting a kernel panic when I try to shutdown. Still looking for a fix for it. polorix
download PCWIZ's DSDT Patcher GUI and the disabler.kext. Run the DSDT Patcher and then restart, then install the disabler.kext then run the update, worked flawlessly for me. seanmcgpa
Polorix - I found the PCWiz DSDT Patcher UI but I am confused on the disabler.kext - where can I find that? To complicate matters, I am running a MacOSX 4TB software raid (see here : http://aquamac.proboards106.com/index.cgi?...amp;thread=613), and am wondering will the DSDT Patcher need to be "run" on each of the 4 1 terabyte drives? polorix
No, the DSDT patcher is for your motherboard, It's not harddrive related. As for the disabler.kext, it's to prevent kernel panics apon installing of the update. I'm currently in the proccess of mirroring EVERY SINGLE KEXT from EVERY SINGLE OSX 10.5.x distro out there and will be contacting each respected group to get ahold of them without downloading the DVDs and using Pacifist. For now, just download it from here =] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/150388-ideneb-1055-works-flawlessly-how-do-i-upgrade-to-1056/#findComment-1067596 Share on other sites
