tyman07
hey guys whats up i have a problem. i tried to istall osx and everything goes good, until i try to boot into it. I get the little prohibition sign. then i use verbose mode and i see waiting for root device and then something about UIM. I am using a partition that i made with gparted that has a partition with windows 7. Could that be the problem? my laptop is a m15x the specs are http://www.alienware.com/customize/area-51...ode=SKU-DEFAULT so please if anyone has any idea how to fix that would be great! ForestGuardian
The "waiting for root device" error means you have to install the right kext for your motherboard chipset, eg. ICHx, VIA, SAS, nForce, and deselect any that are not made for it. Also make sure your BIOS settings support an OSx86 build, particularly SATA control, which should be on AHCI mode. GL!
