Hi. I installed iPC final, and everything went fine. When I boot from hdd, I get a kernel panic. Here are some pics, sorry for the poor quality:

If i use the DVD kernel (rd=disk0s1) it works fine. I tried installing the voodoo kernel but the same thing happens.

At install time i selected 'ACPI-Fix'. Before, i had iDeneb, and i needed to check ACPI-fix to get passed the 'buffers' line, you know which one.

I already tried removing AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext or whatever its name is, and that didn't help.

Well, any ideas?

Thanks,

vampi

BUMPETTY

I tried installing with minimal packages. If I uncheck ACPI-Fix, it gets stuck at the 'using XXXX buffers ...' line. I tried installing just ACPI-Fix and the Marvell kext (for my PATA hdd), but i get the same error.

My guess is it has something to do with the ACPI-Fix, in fact i think the ACPI-Fix might be acting as a bug now, since this is a new version (10.5.6). As far as I know, it means installing an older version 1.0.3 of AppleACPIPlatform. If you look in the picture, there is this text in the kernel panic:

com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform(1.0.3)

I can only guess/hope it can be fixed by looking into this ACPI platform thing... I have no idea how to do that, though.

For the moment, i have reverted to iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5

Help!

BUMP again!

Arrrrr!

Really, any ideas? I'm trying to find out about this AppleACPIPlatform thing, I'm installing the kernel source, to try to look at it, and googling for stuff about the kext, but maybe someone already knows and can help me.

Thanks,

vampi

I'm having the same error, but I have a different motherboard than you so I can't flash it with your ROM. Please advise.

I never figured it out. Maybe you can look for a ROM which is good for your mobo... Alternately you can try iDeneb, which worked for me without any BIOS changes.

Cheers and good luck

PS: what mobo do you have?
