Hi all, I have a windows machine and I am trying to put MacOSx on a new harddrive inside the box.

Specs:

ASUS P5Q PRO

Intel Q6600

OCZ 4GB Ram (DDR2-1066)

ATI HD4850

Set my BIOS based on research on Internet, iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 loads just fine. I partition the new disk to Disk Util HFS+ Journaled, and installed...

Kext Helper

X11

ICHX Fixed

AppleSMBios 800

Audio ALC833

ATI HD Series Base

It seems to install OK, but on restart I see the grey loading screen with the dark grey Apple logo and it just sits there.

Loading in verbose mode... I see this...

Maybe it's a BIOS setup issue... I changed my SATA to AHCI

I've done my research, still stuck, someone please help me!!! :-D

EDIT:

More Googling tells me I have to modify the BIOS using a hacked BIOS file, I will try that now and report back!

This is a well know error!!!

Try searching Google for :" Using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster insanelymac"

It is a ACPIPlatform.kext error you have to replace it with a compatible one, or would you like one of us to come over and do it for you!?

SticMAN

I think this is the right file you need to replace, chmod, chown, rm mkext etc etc etc etc...

Can you tell me how did you install it?:

I still have no idea how I can instal things like this above. Anyone know how?

Yes, the very last step in the Mac Installation process on the screen that says something like "You're ready to install now, hit Install". There will be a button to the left saying "Customize...". Assuming you are using an installer like iDeneb with kexts already on the DVD, this customize button will be loaded with different categorized kexts for you to choose from.

Good luck!
