Panasa
I have just installed iDeneb 10.5.5 on my 40gb SATA hard drive. On the first boot, I got the error "Still waiting for root device". I am clueless, ever since my first few installations of 10.5.2 Kalyway (Which worked fine, no errors) everything has been going nuts (Including previous Kalyway installations, I switched to iDeneb hoping that it would fix my problems). I have tried using different kernels & prompts (ex. -x), and nothing has changed. Installing takes a while and I don't want to have to reinstall iDeneb only to find the same problem. Please Help, Thanks, ~Panasa Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/149278-ideneb-1055-problem/ Share on other sites

Lanceomni
You can boot your install disk and use Disk Utility to find out the Disk and Partition numbers. Just right click on the partition and select "Information" It should look something like disk1s2 Where the first is the disk and the second the partition. While your in there you may also want to write down the "Universal Unique Identifier" Which would look something like this: C2BCAB41-141F-37CB-A6BA-6B5C920327F5 Then boot using (Replacing the X & Y with your numbers): rd=diskXsY -v If this doesnt work you can use (Replacing this number with yours): boot-uuid=C2BCAB41-141F-37CB-A6BA-6B5C920327F5 -v Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/149278-ideneb-1055-problem/#findComment-1057141 Share on other sites
