throttlemeister
After not getting my Broadcom controller to work or even recognized, I thought to try with a Atheros mini-PCIe card. Using LSPCI I get: 07:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. AR5418 802.11abgn Wireless PCI Express Adapter [168c:0024] (rev 01) Unfortunately, when I boot with -v, I get nastygram in my boot log and still now Airport. IO80211Controller::stop called! start [/sourceCache/AirPortDriverAtheros5424/AirPortDriverAtheros5424-223.47.4/m35b/src/driver/AtherosController.cpp:464] loaded unsuccessfully Does anyone have an idea what is causing this, and more importantly, what to do to get it fixed? (I am running iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148768-atheros-problem/ Share on other sites
throttlemeister
Anyone?? I am now using iATKOS, which is a little faster and a little more stable for me (read: no random hangs at first boot) Unfortunately, nothing changed much as far as my WiFi is concerned: start [/sourceCache/AirPortDriverAtheros5424/AirPortDriverAtheros5424-315.44/src/driver/AtherosController.cpp:516] loa ded unsuccessfully If anyone can offer some suggestions or has an idea about a solution, I am all ears. 1b2banana
me too, syndrome. 'driver unsuccessfully loaded' I "upgraded" from a dell 1390 (working oob) to the GN-WI06N gigabyte dualband 0168c:0024 (not working). It's supposed to be supported natively, but doesn't work on my d620 in 10.5.x. It works fine with XP. Tried various builds of iatkos, kalyway, ideneb, jas. Currently running iPC 10.5.6, verified IDs present in the atheros kext. Any input toward a solution to this problem is greatly appreciated. Apparently, something else is wonky besides the 0168c:0024 id trouble with the old kexts. Thanks.
