V2KMGS Posted January 23, 2009 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Does anyone know what would cause file transfers to fail on Mac OS X? Lately while watching TV episodes or any kind of large Divx, Xvid etc from my Maxtor external hard drive I've been noticing dropped bits in the middle which will cause the video files to block up and then lose sync altogether for the rest of the episode. These problems do not occur on the source files that were transferred from my internal. I don't think the problem is with just this drive because I recently bought a Seagate Freeagent 1TB and returned and exchanged it twice because of the same file transfer problems which I assumed at the time were isolated to just that drive. It would be a pain to have to watch every movie or TV show all the way through after each file transfer just to see if it was copied correctly. Any suggestions as to what they problem could be: (hardware or software) and how I can ensure good copies? Thanks in advance.
