mbebop
Any of you who've used VisualHub in the past know its a rock solid mac-only video converter with a simple yet pleasing witty interface, and is indeed one of the best converters I've used. A particularly awesome feature was Xgrid support built into the app, support for which, unfortunately, was never extended into Leopard. Old users will also know that last year Techspansion stopped maintaining the program, and released the code as open source, renaming it FilmRedux (links to the sourceforge pages can be found here http://www.isquint.org/). Sadly, the sourceforge project has sort of died off; devs are busy with other things, and the project hasn't left pre-alpha, leaving me with an old copy of VisualHub that's having more and more trouble dealing with newer formats. I've yet to find a mac video converter that I like as much as VisualHub, so naturally I'd love to see developement on FilmRedux take off again. If anyone here has experience in writing applescript and would like to breathe some new life into a great app, this might be something to spend some time on. I'm considering learning applescript (as I understand it's not too complicated) to see if I can't work on the project some, but this will take time I likely don't have. And, you know, if nobody wants to bring this thing back from the dead, what programs do you guys use to convert video in OSX? I'm pretty tired of not being able to convert mkv's. *Also, sorry for double post :censored2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148637-visualhub-and-filmredux/ Share on other sites
