I have a newly updated 10.5.6 hackintosh and am trying to install the latest patch and i get grey screen each time it goes to apply the patch. Most things seems to work except for this... (Although I haven't tried to install other software). how would I troubleshoot anything like this... Previously 10.5.5 was rock solid.... RSanders Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 that is interesting, I just updated as well and had zero issues... sadly, the mac version of wow does not have a repair utility. I know this does not fix the issue at hand, but you can copy over the data directory (the one with the mpq files) but I think it updates the .app file for wow, so that might not even help. Have you had any issues patching in the past? *edit* I think the only fix might be fore a complete re-install =( However before you do that, I am in the process of uploading my downloaded patch to rapidshare. I will post a reply when it completes. Bobby0724 Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 i have 10.5.5 and WOW, i update my system 1 week ago to 10.5.6 and i have no issues i think the problem is on the graphic card i am using nvidia 7800 gt, have you check that after update the graphic card still working correctly ? My Graphics card (Now a GTX-8600 works fine I use the efi string method) When you say re-install are you suggesting start back at 10.5.2 and re-upgrade? Make sure you still have CI and QE under your vid card... droidian Posted January 23, 2009 Author Share Posted January 23, 2009 I wiped WOW and reinstalled from scratch and I get the same behaviour. Weird because I download and patched 3 times to get to 3.03 (where I was..) then when I apply the 3.03 -> 3.08 patch I grey screen. Next step is to go back down to 10.5.2 and try....
