bengdog3851 Posted April 13, 2006 Share Posted April 13, 2006 ok tried osX on my main PC but found out the hard way that it didnt have sse2. now im trying on my old P4 1.5Ghz, this is one of the early P4s. its a socket 423. anyway im assuming it has sse2, or 3 as it gets much further in the installation then my AMD did. anyway. first it sits at a white screen for around 2minutes. then it sits at a light-blue screen for another minute. it then just shuts down with no warning at all. ?????? ive tried several times. once usng the -v switch. this gave out a hole bunch of code that would normally be covered up by the white screen mentioned earlier. but then it goes onto the blue screen just like the default install. note: during both screens data sounds like it is being copied from the dvd to the hdd (or maybe to ram i dunno) Oh and ive tried THREE completely diffrent DVD drives. any ideas?? bengdog3851 Posted April 15, 2006 Author Share Posted April 15, 2006 anybody??? do i have to format the hdd first? i DONT need/want a dual boot. if i need to format what do i need to format it it to? ntfs,fat32, or is there a mac filesystem. Oh and is there anyway for me to get sum more info on why its just shuting down? (as stated above ive ran with the -v command but that dosnt display any errors (i think :?) bengdog3851 Posted April 20, 2006 Author Share Posted April 20, 2006 ok i put it in my windows comp. formated it to fat32, put it back in the P4 and still the same thing. just turns off without any warning. and at the same time each attempt. i tried it in my P3 but that dosnt have sse2 so ive only got the one comp to try it on. why is it just shutting down like this? what should i try next?
