Hello!

After I tried a couple of times to update OSX 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 or to install iPC 10.5.6 I do not know what to do:

Every time I want to boot for the first time the screen turns back slowly (from top to the bottom with differnt gray) and when I use -v or sth else I get the following message:

errorzi0.th.jpg

My system:

GA-P35-DS3L

Core 2 Quad Q6600

Nvidie GeForce 7300GS

Sata Harddisks and IDE DVD Drives

Hope you can help

thanks

When you install 10.5.6 it installs new graphics kexts you should be able to boot with -x

but to make sure first back up your kexts for 10.5.5 you'll need to replace applesmbios after upgrade.

You can download the kexts you need for 10.5.6 from here

http://www.infinitemac.com/f7/kext-package...-install-t1823/

put them on a usb stick, do upgrade, then boot with leopard dvd replace kexts with these and repair permissions.

This still won't fix your graphics, you need to remove any injectors like nvinject and then install efi string with efi studio before you can boot without -x

Do you believe that it's a graphic problem?

I also can't boot in single mode...

Thanks for answering so quick!

No I don't think it's graphics, but you shouldn't have any problems if you replace these kexts.

Just after installing the kexts you'll need to deal with graphics and boot -x

If you have further probs pm me if you want.

You shouldn't have any probs your system is about as compatible as you can get.

Just out of interest what bios version are you using?

Are you trying to update from 10.5.5 or install a new system? I've read that you need a clean install for iPC 10.5.6. Eveeytrhign works fine on my

GA-P35-DS3

E2160

2GB RAM

512MB 8400GS

SATA HDD and IDE DVD, both in AHCI mode

Also make sure you only choose one from all the options. When booting off the DVD type 'vanilla -v' and see if any errors popup then.
