Hello all,

I hope someone can point me in the right direction or help me out because after pouring over the forums I'm lost.

First here are my hardware specs as well as the partitions set up on my computer.

I have an ASUS R1F Tablet PC

  • CPU: Core 2 Duo T5500 @ 1.67Ghz

  • L2 Cache: 2MB(per core)

  • Supports up to SSE3 Instructions

  • Memory: 2x2GB DD2 @ 667MHz

  • Video: Intel GMA 945 Device ID # 27a6 Rev 03

  • Chipset: Intel 82801G (ICH7 Family)

  • Wired Eth: Realtek RTL8111/8168B

  • Wireless: Atheros AR5008

  • Hard Drive: Hatachi 80GB SATA

So here is where I am at. Awhile back I tried to get OSX onto my tablet. After trying many distros back then (little less than a year ago) I settled on Leo4allv3 (10.5.2). I managed to get everything working execpt the rotation of my screen. I scrapped the project due to lack of time but I am now back.

When I started up again I thought I would try a newer distro that was a more current version (10.5.6). After 2 weeks and well over 50 attempts even to get the basics working I decided I should try to upgrade the working distro I had.

I partitioned the hard drive into 3 equal sections ~25GB each. I installed Leo4allv3 on the first partition (named HackinTablet), kept the second mac formated (named Test), and the third empty for a possible dual boot of another os in the future.

Here are the settings I used for Leo4allv3 during install. These are they only things checked.

  • Vanilla kernel 9.2.0

  • Third Party Drivers

  • ->Chipsets Drivers

  • ->->Intel-ICHx

  • ->Audo Drivers

  • ->->AzaliaAudio

  • Good-Applications

  • Remove-FireWire

  • SMBIOS

  • ->SMBIOS-667

  • PowerManagement-Laptops

  • AboutThisMac

I then followed the directions at http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=10910 to do the combo upgrade. I tried every different kernel and driver combination during the post combo update patch.

Nothing worked at best it booted me into a solid blue background but no desktop.

So I thought I would try installing from a retail DVD. I did a brand new 3 partition setup, with GUID not MBR. I followed the guide at http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=86167. I tired putting the boot loader in both the HackinTablet and Test partitions but neither would let me boot into the Test partition properly.

I know there is no magic bullet for getting OS X working but I simply would like to be using an updated version of OS X. Please any suggestions of where to go to get help or what I might be doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.
