eee.imtiaz
Hello all, I have downloaded the uphuck 10.4.9 v1.4 r3 after failing to install Kalyway leopard 10.5.1 on my Pentium 4 2.4GHz HT [ with intel D865PERL M/B, 1.5GB RAM, Geforce FX 5200 128MB AGP]. I checked the Hardware compatibility list on osx86 wiki and found all my hardware are compatible with 10.4.9 tiger. But when I try to boot from the DVD, it stucks giving a message like "Your computer should be restarted". Then I tried to boot using "-v" to see the exact problem. The booting stops saying something about "USB". So I disabled USB from BIOS and tried to boot. Then the booting stops with a message like "IOATA cannot control bus" or something like that. Then I disabled SATA and enable Legacy IDE controller. But no luck as well. Moreover, I have tried "cpus=1 -v -x -f -s -legacy" and different combinations of it. But nothing happens, I can't boot. The same DVD boots and installs Tiger 10.4.9 easily on my sister's PC [Celeron D 2.53GHz, 512MB RAM, Asus P5GC-MX M/B, on-board AGP and sound and LAN]. It can also install iATKOS 1.0i as well. Could anyone please tell me what I have to do to install Tiger 10.4.9 [uphuck 10.4.9 v1.4 r3] on my Pentium 4 pc? eee.imtiaz
I have solved the problem. I just connected the HDD with the same cable as DVD drive, made the DVD be primary and HDD secondary, and disabled SATA support from the BIOS. Nothing else needed to be changed. No 'cpus=1', no disabling of HyperThreading. After installation, I enabled SATA support and connected my SATA HDD. Surprisingly Tiger successfully read and write on those drives [i have installed ntfs-3g during installation and also SATA driver]. But another problem occurred. My USB pendrive is not recognized. Can anyone tell me how can I make my pendrives work on Uphuck Tiger 10.4.9 v1.4 r3?
